Things that add the spice or flavor to life

This blog was inspired by my children, my pets and friends. Through years of trying to entertain children I found other families, friends and community groups to collaborate with for ideas and resources. Those who know me, know how much children, pets, nature and creativity mean to me. The little the things that add some fun and flavor to your life, like art, creative cooking, nature activities, and fun facts. I was blessed with, and extremely thankful for, many of these things in my life. My mission here is to offer ideas, and inspiration among friends and put together a network of resources, including a list of organizations that do good in our community and a way to support them.

protect the great lakes

Zebra mussels devastated native fish in the Great Lakes--consuming the small organisms that would otherwise be food for larger fish. Urge the EPA to stop new invasive species.

more about polar bears from NWF

A wild polar bear in the Arctic is a majestic creature--commanding respect with its beauty and ferocity. But global warming is threatening this bear's very existence.

Polar bears in the southern area of their range are literally starving to death as the ice they depend on for hunting seals melts sooner in the spring and freezes later in the fall each year. Unless we act, polar bears could easily disappear from the Hudson Bay within our lifetime.

Right now, we have a chance to fight for these magnificent bears. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is about to propose rules to limit pollution from coal-fired power plants. But big industrial polluters won't back down easily.

We've got a fight ahead--and your gift can mean the difference between winning and losing. Act today for polar bears--donate $20 before our February 17 deadline.

Coal-fired power plants are the largest single source of carbon pollution in the nation. The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund is working with hundreds of thousands of supporters to generate public comments in support of new limits on carbon pollution. Your contribution will help us run targeted ads and lead an aggressive field campaign in key states while going head-to-head with polluter special interests in the halls of Capitol Hill.

We're out-funded by the corporate interests fighting these new rules. But this isn't about politics--this is about protecting polar bears and other at-risk wildlife. We need your help to stop these anti-wildlife forces before it's too late.

We might not have their money, but we have you--and we need your help now. Donate $20 today and help fight for polar bears at risk from global warming.

Polar Bears need our help

Polar bears are on the brink. What you do right now can make a difference.

Goal update and new ideas

Ok, so how am I doing with my plans and goals? Well, it's going slow, but it is steady progress however small the progress. I am simplifying, day by day; learning to say no, I can't do that right now and I need to finish this first!

So I have all my pictures in one place, all in containers - now to sort them, preferably chronologically. for the most part, they are chronological, the hardest will be those still on the computer (doubles, triples.....)

My scrap booking supplies are all in one place, and I know what I have to work with.

My project this month is to make some Valentine cards and attempt to send them with photos; stay tuned. I will post samples.

i have also added some new items to my Etsy store - Lifeseasoning. New handmade animal and pet items will be added soon with 10% of profits from those items going to support rescue efforts in our area.  If you know of a worthy animal rescue please let me know!
